The main objective of the project is the establishment of a sustainably functioning national Competence Center in which the three sides of the "knowledge triangle" - education, research and business - are in effective and dynamic interaction based on shared strategies, strong and specific commitments and joint research projects and partnerships, explain the beneficiaries of the project.
The laboratory is built in the building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. So far, 3 pieces have been purchased for the furniture. hydrophones of the Danish company Brüel & Kjær type 8104, 4-channel amplifier of weak hydroacoustic signals (from hydrophones) Bruel & Kjaer model 2692-A “NEXUS” and thermographic camera Testo 890-2.
Hydrophones can be lowered vertically into the aquatic environment and can receive underwater noises and signals from various sources (ships, marine facilities, marine life, etc.). sensitivity -205 dB relative to 1 V / μPa. Their frequency response is uniform and the horizontal absorption diagram is circular. The hydrophones withstand a water pressure equivalent to 1000 m depth. To them were delivered 3 pcs. 100 m deep water cables, which withstand the same water pressure, as well as 3, 10 m cables for shallower working. The cables can be connected in series, allowing a hydrophone to be lowered to a depth of 300 m. They have double shielding (low noise) and operating temperature from -30 ° C to + 80 ° C. Hydrophones are calibrated prior to use with a special Brüel & Kjær type 4229 hydrophone calibrator. The sensitivity calibration accuracy is ± 0.3 dB and the sound frequency is 251.2 Hz. The device has the ability to correct the measured sensitivity depending on the atmospheric pressure through a built-in barometer, plotted directly in the sensitivity correction and with a special adapter for connecting Bruel & Kjaer type 8104. The operating temperature is -10 ° C to + 50 ° C.
